Temporary Exhibition: Stanisław Szukalski and the Horned Heart Tribe – Works from the Collection of the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom.

On 8 May 2026, the Stanisław Szukalski Museum in Gdynia will open a temporary exhibition featuring a collection of works by Stanisław Szukalski and members of the Horned Heart Tribe from the collection of the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom.
The exhibition will present nearly one hundred exhibits, including pre-war sculptures and works on paper by Stach of Warta (Stanisław Szukalski), as well as exceptional drawings created by eleven members of the Tribe.

The works presented by members of the Tribe will provide an opportunity to explore the principles of the “Creative Workshop” (Twórcownia), examine the artistic skills of individual artists, and discover the full spectrum of themes they pursued. Alongside Stach of Warta’s symbolic images, the exhibition will feature original visions of great rulers, depictions of the Creative Workshop, self-portraits of Tribe members, distinctive compositions rich in metaphorical references, as well as remarkable designs for monuments and architectural structures.

The exhibition will offer visitors a unique opportunity for reflection and contemplation among works that embody the boundless imagination of one of the most fascinating artistic movements in Polish interwar art.
