The artist perceives beauty in everyday life, and sometimes even in the rawness of the world. There are artists who repeatedly return to the same motifs in their work, yet there is no monotony or sense of weariness in this. Agnieszka Mitura and Marek Andała are precisely such artists. (…)
For Agnieszka Mitura and Marek Andała, the creative act seems to transcend physicality and materiality. It is a search for truth — not the truth of the external world, but of one’s own existence. (…)
They turn to fragments of reality marked by human presence and existence: old doors, the walls of wooden churches, but also ordinary country tracks or fallen, decaying tree trunks. Agnieszka Mitura found her motif in the landscape. (…)
The exhibition brought together two seemingly different artistic worlds. Agnieszka Mitura and Marek Andała are connected not only by Kazimierz Dolny — a town of art, where they both have their studios on Lubelska Street. Each has developed a distinct artistic identity, while both seek permanence within transience. They have an exceptional ability to capture changeability and, in doing so, the diversity of the world.
